Students with disabilities, in their own environments
Where the equipment they need is already set up and the room is already familiar. Getting to the music room is a real barrier for some students. This removes it rather than working around it.
To be plain about the size of that claim: Lyrekos removes a travel barrier. It does not make music education accessible on its own.
More than one student at a time
Group lessons and sectionals work the same way a single lesson does. People can also join just to listen.
How it works
Everyone sings against the same shared reference rather than trying to sync to each other, which is the part the network won’t allow. That reference can be a recorded track, a previous take, or you, leading live.
On the next pass your student hears what came before, so they’re playing with something rather than into silence. You can go back and forth as many times as the lesson needs.

You are not the tech support
Every remote teaching tool you’ve tried has made you the IT department for a family you’ve never met. Lyrekos runs in a browser. Your student opens a link and is in. No download, no account setup on their end, no special hardware, no phone call about drivers.
It works over home wifi. It works on phones. It has been tested over a satellite link.

Questions we get
What equipment does a student need?
A computer, tablet, or phone with a browser. Headphones or earbuds are better than speakers, since without them the backing track leaks into the microphone and can’t be fully removed later. For a lesson that rarely matters. For something you want to keep, it does.
Does it work for instruments, or only voice?
Both, for teaching. A ukulele lesson works. Professional instrumental recording, where the timing has to be tight enough for a commercial release, is a harder problem which is on our roadmap but not ready yet.
How far apart can teacher and student be?
We’ve run sessions between California and Australia, including over a satellite link. Distance doesn’t degrade the result. The typical timing difference is under 20 milliseconds — about the same as two singers standing 20 feet apart.
